Key Homes was established in 1985 and has traded throughout Hawkes Bay from an office located in Heretaunga Street, Hastings. In 1991 Key Homes branched out to include the Tauranga market and was soon one of the largest building companies trading within the Bay of Plenty. In 2008, the changing economic realities within New Zealand provided Key Homes the chance to fine tune its established business model and combine 30 years of experience with a small management team to produce the most cost effective way to build and develop land within Hawke's Bay.​

 

Key Homes utilizes the best local tradespeople and suppliers and has over 30 years’ experience in all building and council regulations including insulation, water proofing and earthquake protection. This knowledge allows a project to reach completion in the shortest and most cost effective time frame with very few unforeseeable problems.

 

Mike Cavell is a dedicated team manager and has extensive experience both building and managing building teams. Mike walks every client through the costs and provides all information regarding a new build. Key Homes prides itself on providing this personal service between client and builder and Mike looks forward to dealing with all and any of your questions.
